OUR VALUES
Trust, Stewardship, Dignity, Respect, Service, Accountability, Fitness
From the earliest history of New Mexico, the service of the citizen solider has been a steadfast tradition. Our Native American brothers and sisters of the ancient pueblo clans of the north and the Hohokam in the south first settled the Land of Enchantment hunted, gathered, farmed and traded peacefully – but took up arms when necessary to defend against raiding tribes – and later against encroachment by the Europeans. Those first Europeans arriving in New Mexico brought no standing armies. The settlers themselves took up arms to protect their families and communities. The people were the militia – citizens always but warriors when needed. Today’s New Mexico National Guard, along with the State Defense Force and the Civil Air Patrol, maintain that legacy of honorable service – defenders of freedom, lives, and property and builders of strong families, businesses, and communities.

The mission of Army Aviation is to find, fix, and destroy the enemy through fire and maneuver; and to provide combat, combat support and combat service support in coordinated operations as an integral member of the combined arms team. On the modern battlefield, Army Aviation, unlike the other members of the combined arms team, has the organic flexibility, versatility, and assets to fulfill a variety of maneuver, CS, CSS, roles and functions. These cover the spectrum of combined arms operations. Aviation can accomplish each of these roles—within the limits of finite assets and capabilities—during offensive or defensive operations and also for joint, combined, contingency, or special operations.
NM Aviation assets conducted air MEDEVAC operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield. They were deployed to Al Asad Iraq (ASMP), Baghdad Iraq (FSMP-), Erbil Iraq (FSMP-), Shiddadi Syria (FSMP-), Tower 22 Jordan (FSMP-), Prince Sultan Air Base (FSMP-), Camp Buehring Kuwait (FSMP-). In total the unit conducted over 230 MEDEVAC missions, and an additional 1150 hours of training and support missions while facing continuous high threat environments, multiple instances of imminent danger, indirect fire, and anti-aircraft attacks.

Supports the command and control of combined arms forces. Signal support includes network operations (information assurance, information dissemination management, and network management) and management of the electromagnetic spectrum. Signal support encompasses all aspects of designing, and installing, data communications networks that employ single and multi-channel satellites, tropospheric scatter, terrestrial microwaves, switching, messaging, video-teleconferencing, visual information, and other related systems. They integrate tactical, strategic, and sustaining base communications, information processing, and management systems into a seamless global information network that supports knowledge dominance for Army, joint, and coalition operations.
New Mexico’s 3631 Signal Company provided tactical communications for multiple units throughout the CENTCOM AOR including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and 6 separate remote locations. The Unit participated in several large operations ISO of the 36th SB, most notably OP's Intrepid Phoenix and Native Fury where they provided and maintained operational radio communications.
