Capt. Jessica Sedillo, the RTI’s operations officer, provided the keynote speech. Sedillo told the graduates that, as a former commander of the 720th Transportation Company, she understands the many requirements and challenges they will face as they return to their units. “There are so many reasons for choosing 88 Mike, but I know that most of you chose this MOS (military occupational specialty) out of a strong desire to serve your country,” she said. “As an 88 Mike, you’re about to enter a noble profession,” said Sedillo. Sedillo recounted how the Army Transportation Corps moved troops, equipment, and supplies during the Civil War and was called upon to help rebuild France’s “shattered railroad network after D-Day.” Sedillo closed by saying, “Remember, you’re the Spearhead of Logistics.” Spc.
