Chris Youngblood, MXG Honorary Commander drops by for a visit

150th Maintenance Group, in partnership with the Honorary Commander, Chris Youngblood, hosted local community leaders on November 3, 2018.

The day began with a mission brief, video and recognition ceremony for key community leaders. Distinguished visitors were then given a tour of the flight line. It was a way for the Maintenance Group to give back to the community and introduce them to work being done by these great citizen Airmen.

“This tour was a priceless opportunity for the Maintenance Group to showcase the talents and abilities of our Airmen, plus show our local community leaders our appreciation,” said Colonel Reggie Clark, Maintenance Commander.

Youngblood has served as Honorary Commander since October 2015 and is the President and CEO and Managing Partner of Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers, Inc. Youngblood also brought with him several community leaders who are patriotic and look to find ways to support the people in the military. These community leaders are from local industry and encompass a range of businesses, many of them who hire those who have and are serving.

“This partnership pays huge dividends for both the civilian sector of our community and the New Mexico Air National Guard,” said Senior Master Sgt. Gerard Garcia, Maintenance Group Superintendent. This also allowed TLC Plumbing to see what one of their employees does during a drill weekend.”

The day also consisted of an MC-130J and CV-22 aircraft tour. The visitors were allowed to go into the cockpit of the airframes and ask questions that piqued their interest.

“Where is the microwave?”, some of the visitors asked.

The crew chief showed them the microwave and pointed out the coffee pot to them as well.

“Ahhh, creature comforts,” commented several of the visitors.

The Maintenance Group actively works to build with our local community through visits like these. This partnership is one example of what makes New Mexico the greatest place on earth to work and live.

“It was an amazing time, the group was thrilled and learned a lot!” said Youngblood.
