Fierce Power from a Powerhouse of a Female Airman

By Master Sgt. Paula Aragon, 150th SOW Public Affairs

Kunsan AB, South Korea — A Senior Airman lends a hand with her skills and savvy to bring online the massive power units, which will provide secondary power to Kunsan AB, 15 August.
Senior Airman Elizabeth Escogne, who is an Electrical Power Production specialist, with the 210th REDHORSE Squadron, NM ANG, works side by side with Electrical Systems personnel whose mission is to provide a secondary power source to the base.
“Overall, this career field is relatively small. It is smaller when you consider how many females are in this job,” Escogne said.
As a Power Pro specialist, she helps ensure that wherever she may be sent, that the installation has electricity readily available. She uses her skill sets and training to start up the portable generators. She also maintains and operates the power stations. This is critical to the base and the missions being performed.
She ensures the base is able to function at full capacity, should it experience a power outage.
“The power that is produced by these generators will help those who work here at Kunsan AB. Although they may not know where the backup power is coming from, I have a great sense of pride knowing that I was able to fulfill my assigned mission,” said Escogne.
Escogne was the only team member to have hands-on experience with the power units being used here.
Passion and driven to get the job done right, Escogne focuses on the task at hand while also working as a team player. She is a force to be reckoned with.
