Members of the 919th Military Police Company also joined the morning display to educate visitors about the vehicles used by the NMNG, including an M1117 Armored Security Vehicle and armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. Aviators landed a UH-60 Black Hawk on the field as the Gladiators tested their fitness. “What we’re trying to do is make more connections with the community,” said Lt Col. Brian White, the NMARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion commander. “We’re out here to better the lives of New Mexicans and the situations that they might be in.” Recruits in the NMNG will have plenty of opportunities to work out with athletes like Gladiators and Guard Members before leaving for training. “We’re doing a lot around the community, especially in the world of fitness.” White said. “If you’re already athletic, Basic Combat Training will be easier for you, but if you’re not we’ll do everything we can to get you through it.” For more information about joining the NMNG, visit: www.newmexicoNG.com.
