NMNG Soldiers respond to accident

CARLSBAD, N.M. — The Soldiers and Airmen of the New Mexico National Guard assist our communities in a wide variety of ways.

Sgt. Leighton Lee, 919th Military Police Company, was on duty with his team at approximately 7 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2020, when they heard a loud crash. They went to investigate and discovered that a traffic accident had just occurred.

Sgt. Lee and his team sprang into action. They quickly secured the scene, checked those involved for injuries, and contacted dispatch to report the accident.

Once local law enforcement and emergency medical service personnel arrived, Sgt. Lee and his team resumed their normal duties. Their chain of command provided this information and photos to recognize Sgt. Lee and his team for their quick response and willingness to serve their community in any way possible.
